Death announced of Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers- whose influence on the early sixties Rock scene should not be underestimated. They are up there with Presley, Orbison Holly and the rest of greats. RIP.

A sad loss - he was a major contributor to the rise of modern "pop" music - at least his music will live on. Rest gently, Phil.

Sorry to hear this news, I always thought he was the more talented of the two as he sang the harmony, with Don singing the melody.

I don't really believe in coincidences, but earlier this morning I was doing some sorting out in our (converted) loft with Mrs Baxlin, and came across my old Everly Brothers song book (sheet music). Although I can't play guitar for very long nowadays (arthritis in my left hand), I got my 12 string out and had a bit of a strum and sing. Half an hour or so later, I read on here about Phil passing away.

Sad on both counts................
