C 220 CDI fuel lines

Hi can anyone help please.
I had all the fuel lines changed a month ago due to starting problems and one has split today.
It is the one at the front over the drive belt. It has a funny looking bit on it, a bit like a 'syringe'. does anyone know what it is, does??

That is the place where you would check the low fuel pressure.

A new pipe is needed.

If its a genuine MB item I would like to think it will be covered by a warranty !!

Pipe had been rubbed by drive belt, new pipe and new retaining clips, hope its ok now
