2007 C Class CDI 220 46000 miles Elegance
Went out to my car today turned the key...nothing, no ignition lights, Comand worked, headlights, side windows wouldn't. First I thought did I leave something on? No and the battery was perfect. Checked all I could.
About an hour later got back in my car, still the same no ignition lights whatsoever. Gave the ignition area and underneath the steering wheel some gentle knocks, still nothing. Sat there and wondered if my mirrors would fold pressed the switch, heard a click I think, all ignition lights popped up, car started no problems. no messages in display.
This was a dead in the water fault, have read somewhere about ignition lock problems and seen some horrendous prices. Not sure its that but need to do something, anyone else had this fault at all please? Im going to suffer a lack of confidence now till resolved. Don't know whether it will repeat but Im guessing it might.
