First, I was surprised to see that there was diesel AMG engine... Now, when I saw specifications on the web I would like to know the impressions of the ones who drove it. According to the specs, it seems to be the most adequate mix of style, power and engine type for myself. What do you think about it?

Not many of them about! They did do some Cl203 C30s

I'm not sure any were actually sold in the UK as this was LHD only, though if anyone has driven one it would be interesting to hear, though I suspect the current C320cdi will be very similar.

Taj motor je vrlo dobar ali pogledaj novi 2009 320CDI. Taj motor je puno jaci i manje trosi.

That motor is very good but look at the new 320CDI engine. That engine is much more powerful and consumes less fuel.

Ne mogu da nadjem iz 2009, samo iz 2007. Opet, ovaj AMG ubrzava od 0 do 100 za 7 sekundi. Pozdrav, brate!

I can't find the one from 2009, only the 2007. model. Still, C 30 CDI AMG moves from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds.

Anyway, is the automatic gear changer's kickdown agile enough in this model? And is it better to have C 270 CDI instead of this one, I mean it has less engine tax and fuel consumption but still respectable power?

Which one is more interesting to drive?

I doubt that very much ! those EU3 5 cyl engines ran on fresh air!

It is, and not half as economical as the 5 pot EU3 engines.

I liked it enough to buy one :) im with miro on this one.

C63 = 600Nm 13.5L/100km combined

C220 = 400Nm at 2000rpm 6.7L/100km combined

C320 CDI = 500Nm at 1600rpm 7.4L/100km combined

C30 = 540Nm at 2000-2400rpm 7.6L/100km combined

The diesels give a lot of kick for a small amount of fuel but as expected the much larger displacement does not give linear increases in power.

Dieselman is obviously confused about the relevancy of Miro's post...as am I!! :D

:confused:

Must be all that V12 whiplash.

We are looking at someone who is shopping around for engines. The performance of 2008-2009 engines has crept up a long way since the C30 engine came out. However, it was already posted on here that AMG is working on a new AMG Diesel. I was rather interested in the final spec on that too. How does one buy an engine without knowing the spec of nearby engines.

All this spoonfeeding is giving me a headache.

No it has not.
230/5=46hp per cyl, with 1350bar...

Performance is measured in
------------------------------
- horsepower
- torque
- fuel economy
- environmental output

All of those have improved without a loss in power. I find that amazing.

C220 CDI puts out 170HP.

230/5 ? Which year is that ?

220cdi engine from 1999 :
143hp
340nm torque
47mpg combined
156 g/km

220cdi from 2007 :
167hp
400nm torque
47mpg combined
156g/km

In my opinion they haven't really brought things "a long way", those kind of performance gains can be had by remaping the old engine anyway.

Whether the new engine will prove to be as robust as the old lump with this new tuning is yet to be proven...

Oh yeah and the 230/5 is from the late 60's...although i didn't know it gave that kind of output!!

A little correction,

1999. 220 cdi is 125 PS placed in W 202
2000. 220 cdi is 143 PS placed in W 203

:)

2007. 220 cdi must be a real beast with all its power, too much of the power for the roads in my country.
