Hi this is my first ever merc.so I know nothing about these awesome beasts.I've had mine about a week now and I'm wondering how to turn traction control off. When I press the button nothing happens. I have also tried holding the button down and still nothing.am I missing something??? Cheers

Call answer and ok to enter secret menu and turn dyno mode on.
Make sure you’re in a wide open space though.

I assume you've got the w204 c63 ?

Hold the traction control button down until it says ESC-OFF. Any time you brake the system is active in the background. Also, if you want to drift, you need M mode or else it will upshift when it detects wheelspin.

Note at this time of the year, the hedges tend to be more prickly as they mostly shed their leaves

Having done the driving experience at Brooklands where you get to play with the car with all the driving aids turned off this is not advisable on public roads, unless you are the Stig and even he/she can't defy the laws of physics.

To be honest there is relatively little danger in turning TC off to do a burnout for example.
Otherwise yes perhaps with a car with 600nm of torque , you run the risk of meeting a hedge in a countless number of scenarios.
Interestingly my BMW m3 had an issue with the DSC not working for a whole month and i was fine. That said , it has not much torque.

The 6.2 cars I think can be driven more without TC then the 4.0s, the torque on the 4.0s will give you a heart attack if for example one wheel goes over standing water as you accelerate as I found out once ...

Think there’s some confusion here, there’s a world of difference between TC off (which isn’t really ’off’) and turning Dyno mode on
