C43 Coupe Convertible
My rear belts have blown mercedes asking to much for replacement, ebay are asking more than benz for used, looking for used replacements/what part numbers fit,do c 63 ones fit ???

As for Ebay dont know if anyone has noticed but they ask more for used parts than new OEM from main dealers,

Example; front crash bar from mercedes is £114+vat Ebay sellers are asking £180-290, I confronted a few of the sellers and they say "I put a price up and there is daft lazy people who just click and buy withiut checking with main dealers first?" so all prices on ebay are sky high over priced , Please check main Delaer comparisons before purchasing is my advice

What does that mean?
Personally I would buy any safety related parts new and from MB
Blown means the pyro/squib on them have BLOWN making them unuseable/inactive,it sometimes happens in a accident or if your going so fast over something that makes your car lift off the ground so high that the brains of the car thinks your in a collision and sets off you roll bars also on your convertible,so blown means they have tightened up and cant be released, only option is replace them with new or used,im going for used because MB say they are on back order and dont know when they will be in

'Blown ? ' Please explain .That way we might be able to help.

Try Dronsfields specialist MB breakers?

if they only have black, wouldn’t it be possible to actually reuse your original red belts on the ‘new’ mechanism, or contact quick fits in Stanmore Middx.(NW London) who are acknowledged experts. (Maybe they could swap belts if it’s tricky?)

How did that happen?

So, what did you actually do? Your roll bars ok?

How did that happen?

Well, it would be one of the two:

...it sometimes happens in a accident or if your going so fast over something that makes your car lift off the ground so high that the brains of the car thinks your in a collision....

I'm guessing the car wasn't in an accident.

car had a wee bump that caused the seat belts to tighten and deloyed the roll bars

OK , the word you are looking for is 'activated'

A bloke I know was sat in his SL in traffic and a tiny car hit his car from the rear at low speed , but as OP says the back of the SL was lifted up enough to throw the roll bar up.

Only small cosmetic damage to the SL , once re-set it was all good. No rear seat belts involved , the front pre tension did not activate.

Called them they cant do anything with my blown ones, I did call this company before new year Airbag & Seat Belt Specialists UK - Airbag Service LTD then realised after speaking with them that they were just doing what all the Diyers on youtube are doing do to release them,,but they dont fwork as they should, the squibs arent replaced, they are just released to work like an old fashoined belt, not as safe, a quick fix,so i renaged that offer, thanks anyway
