C class w203 coupe wiper problem

Hi guys
Got a problem with windscreen wiper on my wife's w203 coupe 2005 1.8 kompressor
The wipers not working in all ranges but when I activate the windscreen washer wipers wipe a few times. Checked the fuses all looks fine.
Any suggestions guys?

Windscreen Wiper

I had the same problem on my 2003.
Mercedes arranged to uplift car and was taken to MB @ Inverness.
Wiper stalk was renewed-price quoted £188 inc. labour and parts.
Car was redelivered and on shifting car a short way ESP light came on.
I immediately got on to Weirs of Inverness who said all was in order after renewal of Stalk.
I had to return car to Inverness and later told the bill was now £467 as they had to check on star system.
A fault was traced to dirty contact on pins.Funny how it developed as there was no problem before.
Complaint to Service Manager and Director to no avail.
