Hi All.
Dont know this site too well already posted this under electrics (numpty).

Intermittant Squealing from Steering.
Disconnected Coloumn from rack, noise the same so not coloumn.

Can be quiet for weeks then very noisy.
occours Hot or Cold either side of neutral, any distance lock.
does not occour when steering is in one position, only when movement is being applied.
Fluid is topped up no leaks.
Been told its probably rack hope someone has other ideas or knows where i can get it sorted, Ongar essex area without remortgage.

It is possible that it is as simple as dry bushings. Get a can of spray lubricant (WD40) and give the suspension/steering joints, a good spray, with somebody to turn the steering as you lay on the ground. If you can get the car on a ramp, that may assist you in pin pointing the actual bush. A decent Indie should not charge more than a few quid to have a good heave about underneath. It could be a bush that has started to give up and needs replacing. Again this should not break the bank.

Sorry late in updating Steering Noise.
Just my luck its the Rack.

But i got it rebuilt for £400.00 inc vat from a garage near Lakeside.
seems to by ok.
thanks for answers.
