C class whoosh noise under acceleration (pic included)

Hi all please can someone identify this part, I’m getting a whoosh noise under acceleration and it appears to be coming from this area, just Wondered if it was normal or not before I take it to a garage for investigation

That looks like an aftermarket add on to the factory bov (the bit with all the holes on it)

It whooshes noise out under acceleration at lease 3000rpm do you reckon it’s supposed to do that
