I'm having problems replacing the c.v. boots. I've dropped the half shaft from the hub with no probs but now i can't get the other end out the diff, or remove the c.v. from hub end to slide on new boots. do i have to open diff? if so i have to remove self leveling system and fuel tank to get at all the bolts.

You've got to take the back of the diff off and remove a circlip to get the diff end of the driveshaft out, if you've got a set of MB dash pullers they're the idea too for getting the circlip out.

If you drop the subframe a bit you'll get to all the bolts.

Is the CV noisy?
