ESP failed warning light on dash
I used a iCarsoft Scanner i980 to read the DFC.
The code reads:
"C1035 - Signal from N49 (Steering Angle Sensor) is faulty"

In addition all of the following have also stopped working

Windscreen Wipers
Turn Indicators
Cruise control
Head Light flasher

No fault code have been found by the scanner or reported via the dash screen for any of those additional issues:

Could the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) failure cause all this?
I'm willing to replace the SAS if required but given the cost I just want to try to be sure that doing so will provide a fix to the problems.

I'm based in the UK
Thank you for any help/guidance you can provide

I recently had a similar fault (driving the CLS55 in the rain with no ESP was, erm, exciting!!) and it was a ten minute job to swap the SAS cost IIRC £200....

Thanks for your reply Whitenemesis. Do you think a failed Steering Angle Sensor could cause all of the faults I've listed?

Hi , I had the same issue recently on my 2006 CLS , my local indie read the faults and it was the SAS. I also had no cruise control, brake hold and a few other issues but a new SAS cured it all.

Thanks

Andy

Thanks And230

Does anyone know where to buy a Steering angle sensor at a good price?

Get it from the dealer
