Morning all,
So the CL has started giving me grief this morning, cutting out whilst driving and not holding revs.
She's been a bit temperamental to start recently - taking about 6 seconds or so of cranking before coming to life but this morning whilst driving along all of a sudden the revs would drop and then come back several times, until finally, usually whilst slowing down or in traffic, she would just cut out.
This happened several times on a 5 mile journey, resulting in needing to restart but fortunately she would always fire back first time so I was moving again. Under acceleration it's worse - you're doing fine and then suddenly the revs drop then half a second later they are back. The only time it doesn't seem to do it is if you get to 2,000 revs - seems to be Ok there - but below or above the stuttering happens.
It's almost as if there's no fuel getting to the engine for that moment so it cuts out.
Have I just answered my own question - is this the fuel pump or is there something else going on?
Thoughts appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
