C180 Alarm Problems

Hi - My 97 C180 has started developing alarm problems.

I'll unlock the doors using key Fob - No problems
Open the door and the alarm sounds and will not turn off without locking the car.

I can even start the engine and the alarm carries on - searching on the forum it looks like the siren may have developed a fault and so does anyone know how to permanently disable the alarm

If you just need to disable the siren, there is a fuse on the inside of the bonnet (left side, looking at it from the front). Separating this in-line fuse wil disable the siren (or at least make it non-audible). Your immobiliser will still work though.

Note that disabling any part of your alarm system requires you to contact your insurance company to inform them.

On mine (Facelift model) it's fuse No 7 located in the boot.

what if the boot cannot be opened?? the can is messed up on my car so boot cannot opened using the remote or the boot release switch inside the car. plus the last owner thanged the locd & didnt give me the new key for it.
