c180 block key not turning in ignition???

Have you tried the spare key?
This fault will either the key or a dodgy EIS switch, new key approx. £215, EIS switch £400+.
you cannot recode the keys so the cheap second hand ones from E-bay will be a waste of money.
EIS switch has to be coded to you specific car, so a second hand one is a no-go too.
My first thing would be to get the fault codes read as this may give an indication on which item is to blame.
