C180 Blue efficiency Kompressor 1.6 - What MPG do you get???

Manual box should help MPG figures despite what the official figures suggest.

The MPG is not quite as good as I thought, brim to brim the last tank is 37.9mpg. I still think this is an impressive improvement over my old W202 C200, I could never get much more than 30mpg from that.

Thanks Joe, full tank doing about 430-450 miles. Driving normally combo of short and long 35.3 on average so its not too bad. Cursed with a heavy right foot i think. No matter how hard i try!

I am a new C180komp owner too... I found this thread as I am only getting 30 MPG on the car. I am rather a slow driver too. However most of my driving is short journeys to and from work.

Hi Pittsey! Welcome to the club!

I am finding with average driving its more realistic to get about 32mpg. I can get to mid to late 30s because I have a 40 mile commute 3 days a week. I dip under as I take the mrs to work about 4 miles away on my days off. I found the best way to improve mpg was sitting with the trip on the 20-40-60-80 mpg counter and keeping it as high above 60 as I can. With practice u can get around 35 +

These are officail figures i could find (highlighted are manual). So as ever totally ignore laughable extra urban - meaning @ 35mpg as ballpark?
Fuel consumption (urban) 33.6 mpg Fuel consumption (urban) 28 mpg
Fuel consumption (extra urban) 52.3 mpg Fuel consumption (extra urban) 56.5
Fuel consumption (combined) 39.8 mpg Fuel consumption (combined) 44.8 mpg

35 is a fair shout, I am getting around that myself. Still more economical than the Astra convertible I had at 29 MPG

Can anybody help.. I've got a merc 1.6 blue eff sport I bought 10 days ago.. I filled up the tank approx £69 and I've returned a shocking 18.6 mpg and achieved 150 miles on half a tank. I haven't driven it rough etc just smooth gear changes at low revs... If this is the fuel consumption then I know I can't afford to run this car.. A little concerned too on what to.. It's got a full merc service history. 1 owner and mint condition so I'm a little puzzled at the consumption. Can anybody help... I am wishing now I'd bought the diesel auto
