C180 flashing heater controls!!!

1995 C180 Manual Saloon Esprit, no aircodnition. If the ignition is turned on, the lights behind the two circular heater controls flash rapidly.
Engine starts OK, lights still flash. Once the side lights are swithed on the flashing stops, but the back light lights go out and stay out.
Also, the engine temperature builds up to normal, yet the fan will only blow mild hot air even though the tempurate thumb wheels are set to blue (cold).

Anyone had the same problem and what should I look for?

Therefore the first step would be to take apart the control unit clean and spray with contact cleaner?
That is what comes out of the posts at your thread

sometimes when I turn my car on the heater fan comes on full and on hot and the lights dont come on at all, a swift whack in the right place sorts it out.....try to the left of the hazard switch.....

had the same problem mate, gave the dashboard a hard knock, it all started working A.ok, dont advise it though!!! lol

Could be!!! Problems started soon after I changed some bulbs on the cluster so I might start looking again there
