W202 c180 experiencing the same idling problems as at the beginning of this thread, it's not a kompressor model, just normally aspirated but it's running fine whilst driving, no misfire or lack of power but just at idle speed when the choke comes off the engine is not happy, it wants to idle at around 550rpm but will then splutter and rev itself upto 1200rpm and so on, I have just changed the plugs a couple of weeks ago and was running great until 2 days ago, I have also replaced the mass air flow meter with a new one which has helped a little but has not cured the problem.
I tried to manually adjust the idle rate using a threaded knob at the side of the throttle linkage and managed to increase idle to 1050 but has seem to have hen back to 500 by itself over night
