How can you tell from the pics it's the facelift E61 and not an E61 ?

On my E39 Touring the first thing to get damaged with any water leaks is the rear self-levelling air pump which sits inside the spare wheel well. Most of the ECUs are actually mounted higher up.

redesigned door cards with the wood on the trim below the window instead of the handles and also the new style auto gearbox so must be at least a 6 cyl model . And its am M sport model too. Can see the sports seats and M steering wheel.

I would imagine freelance auto electricians who know what their doing are making large amounts of money working on high value flood damaged cars.
