C180 Wont rev over 4000rpm

Hi, my mercedes c180 manual wont rev over 4000rpm when stationary, but will when moving, is this normal or a fault, as I've just had someone come to view it as Im selling it and he said it was a major fault, someone please please help.

As ^ that's normal and let the engine warm up before you do that

Plus 1. My 1st MB (C200K sport coupe) did this, and I was scared stupid I had bought a lemon for the reasons described. Totally normal behaviour I assure you.

Thankyou everyone who replied, as said in previous post, its a major relief now knowing its normal. I have decided to keep the merc anyway . The only reason for sale was because of house purchase, but the wife has agreed to let me keep it!! yipee!!!
