Hi guys,

My car has a good service history, I've now done 90k and im doing increasingly more miles, I want to keep the car and its in immaculate condition. What should I be doing on this service to maximise protection and longevity. All advice welcome. Thanks in advance

If its the M271 engine - then at this mileage I would recommend new timing gear and chain asap.... if not already done.

Apart from that, consider when the following were last done:

Engine oil and filter change - every service (A or B)
Cabin filter - every second service (B)
Air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs - every 4 years
Brake fluid - every two years
Coolant - 15 years (if original long-life coolant)
ATF - every ~40k miles
Manual Transmission Oil - not sure
PAS fluid, Diff oil - on condition, not normally required

Excellent exactly what I was after, any idea on cost for the timing gear? I fear this could get pricey

About £1300-1500 IIRC but I would worry about it when you need to. The engine becomes rattly at first start up.

Excellent I assume the previous owner has done it as the engine is absolutely smooth as silk, it isn't in the receipts but it has been very well looked after

Ok so if I change:

Atf fluid
Oil and filer
Air filter
Cabin filter
Brake fluid
Fuel filter
Spark plugs

That would suffice until the chain hints at rattling?
