Hi guys
Need a help with my friends c200 cdi 2005 w203 coupe engine Managment light is on and diesel fumes smell inside the car
Is it something related to each other or just coinsedence and he just needs to change the cabin filter
Thanks in advance

Take off the plastic engine cover and check what's happening there, is there diesel leak around (pipes, hoses, pump) or black stuff on the foot of the injectors.

Edit: definately not the cabin filter, it's not diesel powered :) (though won't hurt if changed)

Can it be a blocked DPF filter? As one mechanic who did the diagnostic for me said that my DPF filter blocked by 51%

The fumes and engine light are not necessarily related.

I'd have a sneaky 50p on the fumes being leaky fuel pipes between the filter and pump. With the engine not running, run your fingers around the pipes going into the fuel pump. They should be bone dry. If there's any fuel on them the spring clips are shot and need replacing.

It's not a bad idea to replace the pipes at the same time.
