how old is your car ?

My Cruise Control arm sometimes needs a good push into the upwards position to engage it . . . it also creaks, annoyingly!, so I imagine its been well used . . could be a simple case of a dodgy connection in there . . . I will be getting it checked at the next service in any case, just to be on the safe side.

It is probably one of the wheel ABS sensors playing up. Try cleaning them and the stator around the hub. Also the cables can fracture internally so try metering them whilst giving them a wiggle.

If all else fails take the car to Andy Gayle. Really knowledgable!
