Gearbox wont change up or down can get a forward gear not always same gear also will go into reverse.any ideas whats wrong is it terminal?

Don't know if you've tried switching off engine and re-starting. My C200's refused to change gear on two occasions in 3 years but the re-start clears the fault.

That worked at first but has happened again and is stuck in second gear now

Try the g/box oil level before laying out money.

The oil has been topped up, been put on a computer and codes 122,126 and 147 came up. The ABS, BAS lights are on and the cruise control doesn't work, is this an electrical fault. I didn't know weather any body had had the same problem before.

Those fault codes mean nothing at all.

They should start with a P......

What diagnostic equipment did you use?

ABS / BAS lights often cured by replacing brake light switch. I'm not so sure that's the problem in your case though. The brake light switch issue is usually intermittant and doing a restart of the engine usually puts the lights out for a while

The 147 code came back as mechanical fault shift solenoid transmission valve block transmission fluid level TCM

Who/where checked and topped up the oil level? Sounds like you either have a bad leak, oil not topped up correctly, or faulty/blocked valve body.

If the traction lights are on and the faults in the traction system are wheel speed related then that can cause problems with the gearbox as it gets it's road speed signals from the traction control unit via the chassis can network. If you get this looked at it may well sort out the gearbox fault as well.

122 The accelerator pedal value transmitted by control unit N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit) over the CAN bus is intermittently implausible.

147 The gear is sporadically implausible or the transmission slips sporadically.

126 The altitude factor transmitted by control unit N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit) over the CAN bus is intermittently implausible.

Enjoy
