C200 W204 service reminder software update?

Service reminder displayed as normal "A service due etc". After the service I now get displayed "B service overdue 6400 miles" every time I start the car. Querying this with the garage, they came up with the explanation that model W204 up to 2015 now need a software update (costing £75 +VAT). Incidentally the car had travelled only 2500 miles since the last B Service a year ago. Has anyone else heard of this?

Thanks for the link. I did a search but missed that one. Regarding the Youtube videos I think the knack is to press the OK button WITHIN 1 second of pressing the phone button not at the same time.

However, I was assured that this had been tried, unsuccessfully. If it did work I wonder if it reverts to the correct reminder next time.... if any? As mine is due for service at MOT time it isn't really important.........just annoying.

I doubt that manual reset will work as it has already been reset when you had the last service.

Reading through that thread, he didn't pay up. Just when he had resigned himself to paying up and had the car booked in, he tried one more time to do the manual reset himself and it worked. Bizarre as it may seem, the the thing to do is wait a week or so and try resetting again,
