C204 Electric Seat Problem

Hi guys.

New owner of a W204 C220 CDI Coupe.

I love the car but have a couple of problems already.

One unusual one is the passenger side seat isnt working properly.

It moves forward and back and reclines down and back although the back support doesnt go as upright as it should. It just goes so far and stops in a gangsta position.

The drivers side is fine and It has the fully electric memory seats.

I'm wondering if there is a way of resetting them or something?

I have googled but cant find anyone with the same issue as me.

From what I've researched it sounds like my seats need resetting with the STAR software.

Does anyone other than Mercedes have this? Merc have quoted me £120+VAT to diagnose the issue which seems a bit heavy to plug it into a computer but may well be my only option.

My nearby specialists didn't have the software to do it

Many MB specialists have Star, I suggest a Google session to look for MB independents in and around your area.Alternatively you could but an iCarsofr MB2 diagnostic tool which is very comprehensive in fault finding although not as wide ranging as Star. My own iCarsoft unit does have a section that can look at seats.

I would still recommend getting someone with experience to look at it as fault code reading is one thing, interpreting it can be very different.

Had the seats resynced and its sorted the issue.

Only cost me £20 in the end so I'm glad I didnt go to Mercedes! Cheers Ben
