C205 2016 C Class Coupé
Hi everyone,

New to this so please bear with.

I have a 2016 C Class Coupe. A few months ago the ‘front left malfunction’ and SRS light popped up. I’ve taken it to my local independent garage. The problem is the passenger seat sensor mat, which will be expensive, wherever it gets done due to the whole cushion needing to be replaced. MB is charging £985!
I’ve been reading about the emulators and wondering how safe and legal they are? I wouldn’t have a baby seat and not sure there are even iso fix points in the front anyway. Will the emulator turn off the light and message? Or will it then cause the seatbelt alarm to sound if it thinks it’s occupied? And will I need something for that? Sorry for the waffle, I’m a novice.

Thanks in advance

If the emulator is the AKSE baby seat emulator, then this is to allow a non Mercedes ranked baby seat to be fitted, which will turn off the front airbag.
it won’t bypass/defeat a faulty seat sensor which will result in an mot failure.
