C207 2012 Squeaky Steering Wheel 12 O’clock

Morning all,

Video below. Essentially when my steering passes the default 12 O’clock position I get a strange noise. So for instance on a hard left or right turn, as I turn the steering wheel 3 full rotations I get the noise 3 times when it passes the default position. You can feel a slight, almost rubber like catching / vibration at the same time, seemingly from the steering wheel but I guess could be further away and travelling the column.

Someone on a Facebook group suggested the hub or something (didn’t speak English so hard to understand).

Some silicone grease on the rubber grommets on the steering rack, that should cure that noise.
