C207 bonnet warning on dash

Whilst having a good nose around my car now that I've had it for a week i was having a look under the bonnet yesterday. After closing it and driving off i got the red warning indicator on the dash saying that the bonnet was open accompanied by a far from trippy regular bing.

It took me a good few attempts at opening and closing the bonnet before finally getting this to go off.

Any thoughts as to what this may be?

You never closed it hard enough.
I've had it a couple of times, only ever had to drop it a bit harder and the warning is gone.

As above on my sl also. dont do it too gently

When you open the bonnet make sure the pull handle is pushed back in and as above close firmly.
