I've just ordered a E250 CDI SE coupe but have a few days to confirm the final specification.

I'm undecided whether to get the panoramic sunroof and as I've not tested a sunroof equipped coupe I would appreciate any advice or comments on possible drawbacks caused by the reduction in headroom (6ft tall driver), increased noise levels or any other potential problems.

Thanks

Headroom is not reduced at all as far as I can tell. It opens above the roof so there is no reason it should. A brief sit in a coupe without the sunroof was enough to convince me one would be desirable if not essential. Your SE has the light headlining so the closed-in feeling won't be as bad as in a Sport but just think of the infinite headroom in the month* of summer! I also like the contrast against the body colour (unless you chose black).

* Not a typo

I've got panoramic sunroof on my other car (not MB), it works great, the cabin feels very airy, and the tint works so there is no issue with bright sun and I never actually needed to use the internal blinds. Also, as said, it is a great selling point. So my view is that the feature is highly recommended, though you will need to weigh if you find that it is worth the cost.

I have a E350 Coupe due at the end of the month. I opted for the pano roof. I had a sunroof in my last car and the one before that. It does wonders for the cabin. Mine will be white so the black roof will look the business. Went for the red interior as well so the extra light will look well.

As said before the roof will add to the resale figure. I did mone on a PCP deal and figured out that by the addition of the roof I would only loose 33% of it's value over the three year period. Compare this to the HK sound system I will only get 24% back. I have done this by caclulating the differences that the ballon move by adding then taking away these options.

Go for the roof you won't be sorry.It will aslo be the closest you will get to the cab version but you get to keep some boot space as well and save £3 as well.

I have a full panoramic roof on my E320 sport and if I had to lose every optional extra to keep it, I would.... It is probably the best resale point you could possibly have and also it makes it look a different car to other E-Class.:thumb: There is no difference in headroom in mine, as opposed to my previous E-Class, so I can't see that being a problem

Highly recommended- we have on both our cars

Yes it does take up head room. The roof supports are just about where you sit and hitb your head. The roof is a differnet shape to the Coupe without Pan roof option. Mind you I would miss it!!

Had a pano roof in my old C Sport Coupe and the only issue with it was it tended to rattle. Looked great though! :)
