Hi All
Wanted to post this issue and the solution found as it could have been a nightmare trying to fix this - I hope it helps others.

2016 C207 E220D, 120k miles. Reverse camera stopped working, then a week or so later the boot lid and/or lhs/rhs/both main beam lights randomly activated when the car was parked and locked.
Autel code reader showed multiple faults across all modules, mostly related to comms issues or implausible requests being made.

Identified an issue where moving the bootlid up and down triggered the lock to activate, this then turned out to be a loom problem where the loom leaves the O/S boot support strut.

Stripping back the OE insulation just after the last tab that holds the bootlid loom to the bootlid arm showed 6 broken wires - all broken in different places but within a 6" stretch. Stripped and soldered new wires in to join the broken wires together, insulated etc and cleared all codes - seems to have sorted the problem.

Hopefully this will help others as I think without accidentally finding moving the bootlid caused the lock to trigger it would have taken a very long time to solve...

cheers
