Just picked up my E Class C207 today (2016). All good except two tiny bodywork issues that are being resolved. I was expecting fairly high service costs but the 3 year cost quoted was £1500. Is this reasonable? Usual breakdown/ courtesy car/Adblue included. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Welcome.

Yes, the MB Service Care Plan is a very good deal.

(Especially as your car will need the ATF changed next year).

Plus, they are offering 20% discount right now, if you pay upfront.

Is that with the 20% discount?

The price for three services for my c63 is £1324.80

£441.60 each.

Thank you, I wasn’t told of any discounts by the dealer. I have time to think it over but going by the first two replies I might be struggling!

You need to buy online and pay upfront for the 20% discount.

Thanks Will. With discount price now £1209 so it’s moving in the right direction. I’ll mention this to the salesman when he phones to arrange the cars bodywork being touched up.

Hi Gordon,

I don’t think your salesman will be able to budge on the price, as it is a centrally operated scheme, and you need to book it online for the discounted rate anyway.

IMHO the 20% discount is a pretty decent saving anyway :thumb:

An A service is an oil change and a B service is a bigger service . With a 3 year service plan you ideally want to get B,A,B (more for your money , but as above watch out for gearbox change which is extra ) , rather than A,B,A

Quick update. Drove the car out of my drive this morning and the exhaust has just fallen off!
Will keep you updated 😡

On a car you collected yesterday????

Back to the dealer asap.... :(

Looks like the pipe bracket is missing. RAC has just put a new one on. Don’t know how the bracket can be missing completely mind? Heading off to dealership shortly.

the car was probably used as drugs mule, with the "gear" stuffed in the exhaust pipes...

At the dealership now. Spotted 4 little dings that are being done then it’s getting a full check over. No drugs have been found I’m told but the technicians are giggling a lot🤔

The ATF change is included in the service plan as far as I can recall. I‘m due one this year on an A service. No plan tho’

Indeed it is (but only if ESS is showing it as due.....).
Good point, so anyone buying a service plan must consider that aspect when weighing up cost benefits of plan compared to individual services.

Personally I'd have an indy service it. Dont be scared at paying for gearbox oil. Its a circa £220 at most places . Engine Oil and filters say £100 tops, fuel filter £20 .. and you get a service stamp. But that's just me !!
