C209 200 Kompressor sport Possible Idle Concern

Hi Guys

My car is idling at 762 RPM? what is the correct RPM for this model at Idle , I always thought 900 or am I wrong

How long have you had the car and has it changed?

If it is stable and not stalling why worrry? 750-800rpm when warmed up sounds correct to me, 900 would be too high.

Had the car 6 months, had the timing chain replaced a couple of months ago, cars not stalling but seems down on power 148k on the clock however

The mileage should not be an issue, has it had new plugs, air filter etc?

Hi

Yes plugs and air filter have been replaced along with new oil, there is a loss of compression on the valves of 10% & 16% loss

We assume the timing has been set 100% correct after the chain was replaced ? Just the chain or sprockets as well ?

Hi Pete, Timing chain and sprockets, chain tensioner etc have been replaced, but as for the correct timing thats an interesting one, I assume so, as it was rebuilt by a Merc specialist?
