Hi guys,
Early 2000 CL600, and obviously there are electrical issues!
It's been parked up and I feel like there is something central responsible for most of this.

No switches on the drivers door work, broken wires in door hinge fixed, no difference.

But the drivers seat does work when tilted forward, and all the windows sporadically work when a door opens, so the motors themselves are ok.
That includes the rears, but they can't be operated from any switch, front or rear.

Nothing on the centre console works either.

Star won't communicate with the front drivers sam, or the drivers door module.

I have ordered that sam off Carl, as that seemed a sensible place to start. Are there any other ideas of what might be common to all of these things?

There are more issues, but we'll start with this I think!
Thank you for any ideas

Given that Star can't read the SAM, I would think you are pretty much on the mark. If you still have issues with a good SAM fitted further diagnostics required.

Fitted the SAM, no difference, it still can't communicate with it.
And just to check I'm not being stupid, right=drivers side?

Are you happy that the door module is ok? The broken wires may have shorted and blown the unit.

Stupid question but will it still not communicate when running?

My w211 wouldn't communicate with the new SAM unless it was running and had over 12v.

I would look under the passenger front carpet there are a series of multi plug connectors one is the can bus plug open then, clean terminals and remake connections and try then.
