Bloody indie left the c-pillar trim detached for almost a year now. It looks like the only way for it to be fitted back in is to remove the rear seat. I saw a few videos about the W221 but everyone starts with removed seats trying to explain how they got there. Any ideas?

IIRC you have to remove the seat bases first. Pull up the bases from the back and then feel under the front and press in the clips which then release the base - it's fiddly . This gives access to the bolts retaining the seat back to the bulkhead. Remove the bolts and lift the seat back upwards . Be careful otherwise you can rip the rubber sound deadening behind the seat back. I can't remember if you have to remove the center console as well. As usual once you have done it once it's a 10 minute job.
