About to change injector copper seals, but have come across differing opinions to the bolt torque.

The video (apparently genuine mb source) says 15 Nm & 90 x 2. But most others state only 7 Nm .

Could anybody please confirm for definite?

Thank you.

EDIT... Think I may have found the discrepancy? Are M6 bolts @ 7Nm, and, M7 bolts @ 15Nm? Mine are M7 A0019902607 supplied by MB Newcastle.

Tightening T for a bog stock mild steel 8.8 coarse thread M6 is 11.8 Nm . 8mm is 28.8 Nm But as we know life is never that simple .

But 15Nm + 2 x 90' would probably put a 7mm somewhere between the two.

Thank you so much. Only 10 mins away from reassembly.
But I did (still do?) have one massive issue. Cylinder 2 didn't have a copper seal! So took quite a bit of seat cutting. Ever heard of that before? 99.9% sure there wasn't one.

I would do a bit more research before deciding on which tightening torque to use . One seal completely missing ?? others on here will have more experience of that than me , but it does sound strange, pressure is massive in that area , I would have expected visible signs of leakage from day one .

Thanks Pete for your advice, but it came too late - I was already on the job.

I went for 15 Nm & 90 x 2 (while crossing all my digits and praying) and it went fine, it didn't feel too tight (as if it could have gone tighter).

The most difficult part was one of the fuel return connections didn't want to reconnect tightly without a lot of persuasion, I'm still not overly confident with it so I'll be ordering a new set. Did an oil & filter change while I was in the mood, been on a 20 mile run and all seems good. I only undid injector end of the fuel supply pipes, there's enough movement so they move out of the way without any issue.

I've left the engine cover off so I can keep an eye on things for a few weeks.

Thanks again.
