got the message appering the other day whilst driving. charged battery though it was pretty full.

done a reset on the error message when ignition key removed to cler message, no malfunctions when restarted but still appeared whilst driving.

got a garage to check out, they say alternator was charging battery, but occasionaly stopped (mainly when a lot of load of load was put on the engine). i suspect that my alternator is faulty and will need replaced.

any thoughts on what else it could be, i though the belts maybe loose and slipping, but that seems fine also.

    Hi

If your alternator has a free wheeling pulley i suspect that it is on its way out and occasionally freewheeling in both directions.

Can you have a look at it when it is idling and watch for end play in it.

Pulley can be changed with the proper tool and is not too expensive.#
