C220 CDI Coupe engine problem??

Hi all,

I’ve owned a 52 plate AMG C220 CDI Coupe panoramic for almost 2 years now. About 4 months ago the glow plug light started to stay on for about 30 seconds after the engine is switched on and is still doing so. Also the vibration when the car is running idle is getting progressively worse and the MPG has dropped from about 54 to 46. The vibration levels out when more revs are applied.

I have taken it to an independent garage I have used for years as he has a diagnostic thingy and the only fault code that came up pointed to the glow plugs but he said that should not cause what is happening and suggested it could be the fuel injectors or ECU. After some research it seems a viable explanation but I’ve never had it cut out so wanted to know if anyone else has experience of this sort/knows of anyone that has?

Problem was caused byt the fuel injectors. Two needed replacing ASAP, one wasn't all that good and the fourth was ok.

I just had all four replaced to save additional labour charges for going back under the bonnet to do the other two
