So I'm looking to my friends 2009 C220 CdI auto 110k on the clock for a mates rate quite below the current sale price on the market.

I've read into the injectors and it has the Delphi + solenoid with the black pipes

There is some residue which is dry and not fresh oil closely around this area as shown in the photo

I'm hoping that this is due to the problem happening before hand and had already been replaced with the newer injectors

Is there anything I should be weary of?

Car seems to drive as expected apart from that

As I understand it, the original injectors gave reliability problems and not sealing problems. If you have a black residue remaining, it could be that there has been a leaking seal at some time earlier that ha s hopefully been sorted.

The giveaway for a seal leak is a chuffing sound and some leakage of fumes and of course a build up of the 'black death' residue. Hopefully yours is historical.

The original faulty injectors should have been replaced under warranty / recall and this could be confirmed by your dealer.
