I am new to Mercedes and have just purchased a C220 Sport Auto - I have a coupe of questions:-

1. Are there any "Chipping" solutions to improve responsiveness and BHP etc. Something like Bluefin I guess which doesn't list this model.

2. How easy/difficult is it to change the standard fit speakers from the Audio 20 system. I also would like to add my own amplifier and do not know if the system is already prepped to allow this, pre-outs or something similar?

Any help much appreciated.

Realised in te wrong thread and repoted to general discussion. Either way it's a W204

Welcome to the forum. Assume it's a W204 (2009).

There are loads of chipping options for that engine but maybe they haven't been tested out on W204 as it's fairly new and most people would probably not want to chip while in warranty . I guess there's probably a hideously expensive Brabus upgrade (although I think they were being heavily discounted not long ago).

I know some MB dealers offer the Brabus chip. If I remember its about £1200 maybe wrong though and I assume as they are fitted by MB dealers the warranty must be valid afterwards.

Try them apparently they work good and cheap, one of my friends bought the pro one six months ago and he says its really good..

I've got a Kleeman KD Box on My E320 CDi and its perfect, you could get them for around 500 - 600 pounds.

Hope that helps :)

The only problem with the above is being Generic and for $120 lets be honest ...

What do you mean by Generic, sorry I dont understand.. :o

it's euros not dollers :p

Sorry it was an early post ! lol

Generic = one size fits all - This programme would be used for all of this engine (giving the same output without regard for the clients need's or the vehicle's current state.

Obviously our Bespoke files are developed from scratch for every client ... Therefore making the most the safest way, you may have an exhaust or and air filter a generic file will have no consideration for this where as a custom file will be developed with this in mind this apply s for any upgrade ...

I read somewhere that MB DON'T offer the Brabus chip for this car because the gearbox can't take any extra torque....not 100% sure but would strongly suggest you enquire further on this before proceeding - this came from a member here who works at MB HQ in Germany and was part of the development team....so do search posts etc.

Last Time I was Looking at the Brabus display I'm pretty sure it was available for the W204.

It would take my W203 C220 up to 200hp +, so presume you could get a bit more on the W204.

This is the only Mercedes approved option. Anything else will screw up the warranty.
I'd check it out, Don't know if its still available but they were offering a free 7-day trial.

(have to tell you insurance though...)

D3s kit from what ive read takes it from 170 to about 218

It will not affect the box if applyed correctly.... Remember the Brabus box is generic you will get the same result with a £200 job ...

A Custom map will/can alter shift patterns and boost and fuel timing. The main problem with Tuning boxs are there not flexable .
