c class
Hi All,

I'm looking at purchasing a new c class coupe amg line. I currently drive a 2016 C220d, and have seen a used 2017 C300 (petrol) I very much like. I tend to do a mix of town and motorway driving and I on do about 3k miles a year. Does the C300 use a lot more fuel than the c220. I'm a little concerned if I go for a C300 i'll constantly be filling up and spending lots on fuel.

c220d - 55mpg
c300 - 40mpg

Any advice is much appreciated, o thank you in advance

At 3K a year the difference in fuel would be about £50 more for the C300 petrol. As for filling up the c300 would easily go a month between fills and the C220 about 10 weeks so not frequent with either option.
I have driven diesel for many years as so persuaded my wife to go diesel. After just over a year and a half she had to call the AA as the engine shut down site to the exhaust particle filter not having regenerated. She was only doing occasional short runs amounting to only 5K a year.
With the higher price of diesel fuel compared to petrol plus additional service costs anything less than 11/12K a year I would DUP petrol would be the best choice.

Sorry a stray “site” in the text, should say due to. Poor eyesight, sausage fingers and not checking prior to posting.

Had a C300 as loan car, was v good, so much so that will hopefully replace my current day to day car(Honda)
