I thought all later models had them but it turns out my 2009 model did not come with one according to the chassis number, apparently it's an option and as mine ended 745 it didn't have it .
Not that I really minded either way but just thought they all had them.

My C220 cdi on a 57 plate is DPF free. Surprised a 2009 doesn't have one as sure it was law by then. Apart from a higher road tax be grateful. Easy to tell, just look at your exhaust pipe after a good run lol

So was I but here is the email Mercedes UK sent me,

Mercedes-Benz Model: C-Class C220 CDI

Chassis No: ending ..745

Thank you for contacting Mercedes-Benz Customer Service. We are writing in response to your recent email communication regarding whether your car has a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).

We have contacted our Technical Specialists, who confirm there is no DPF in your car.

We hope you find this information useful and should you have any further requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us.

DPF and road tax

Well i wouldnt believe everything Mercedes tells you. Yes having no dpf will ensure you pay more road tax as emissions/particulates will be higher. I think i pay about £205 pa. As i said its easy to spot as your tailpipe will get very sooty without a dpf. How much road tax do you pay? It may be that Swansea have you down as having one lol that would be nice.

It was only an extra cost option in 2007 I think

Ok thanks for that, my tax is £225 for 12 months.

DPF and road tax

£225 ? You dont have a 220 cdi then as i went and checked mine and its £205 renewed in August. You cant have a DPF then. Lucky you !

Looking back you said it was a 220 thats odd. Mine is a C220 CDI Elegance, saloon 170 bhp but the engine was an uprated W203 in the first of the W204 so maybe thats the reason

Mine is a 2009 c220 sport auto and at first i thought it had dpf but i read the thread saying that if your chassis ended 745 they did not have one so i just double checked with mercedes.
