My coolant visit workshop comes up on the computer and the car is in limp mode and the fan comes on straight away. Does anyone know what is causing this please.

Have you checked the coolant level?

Might be the water pump as they are plastic, mine was replaced under warranty, common problem on W204 c220 mine was a 62 plate sport plus saloon

doesnt sound good regardless of codes simply because the fan comes on which means engine is overheating. get a water hose n fill ur coolant bottle up with water. sounds like u got a leak somewhere plus u most likely wont have any hot air from ur heater inside the car coz no coolant.
no point in puting antifreeze in it right now if u got a leak somewhere. its just leaking out somewhere. the bottom right radiator hose clip is common for loosening. ide have a water tap on a even flow into ur collant bottle with water whilst engine is running and look for ur leak.
have seen this happen on a few c220s.
