Hi can anybody help please,
C240 1998 , on Monday when I started the engine it felt as if it was missing on 1 cylinder, when I got home I ran a diagnostic with my Carsoft that came up with ignition coil no 5 cylinder I have just replaced it and engine still not ok faults read as follows;
0305 ASSESSOR CYL 5/OFF ASSESSOR CATALITIC
VERIFTY PRIMARY VOLTAGE OF IGNITION COIL
On the live readout all readings are the same bar the following,
Hall sensor camshaft was 85 now 170
Lambada B4 Cat rh was -2% now 0%
lh same
O2 probe B4 Cat rh 167 was 0
lh 10 was 0
Probe heating B4 Cat off was on
O/El readings were taken 2 years ago when car ran fine. I have tested voltage to the coil and centre of 3 wires reads 13.5v.
Has anybody any ideas before I resort to the stealership
Many thanks
Ron

Have just found another post about changing coils with another 1 and tracing missfire to that cylinder and will try first.

It could be a plug, plug lead, injector, lack of fuel pressure issue. It is fairly simple to diagnose.
