c240 x reg misfire

hi my c240 has all of a sudden started running very rough, starts ok runs fine for afew mins then idle feels lumpy and no power ! when plugged into a mates machine showing no1 cylinder misfire could somebody explain which is cylinder 1 and point me in the right direction as to what the fault could be.

misfire problem solved on c240 x reg.

hi just to let the helpful members know who replied to my original post. after discovering cylinder 1 which was showing misfire i decided to change the leads off 1 to cyl.4 drove for a few miles sure enough fault came up when plugged into fault reader cyl.1 still showing misfire fault was reset. next i swapped the coil pack from cyl 1 to cyl 4 again after a short drive fault came up when read the fault was on cyl 4 so a new coil pack was fitted and hey presto. done about 120 miles no probs. the only problem is car has developed a bit of a rumble at 50 mph but only sometimes, the whole car shakes (vibrates) past 50 its ok iwas wondering if the gearbox oil needs changing i really dont know when it was changed last, if somebody could tell me if an oil change would cure this problem (if indeed it is the gearbox) and how to go about doing this it would be highly appreciated, and thanks to all who replied to my original problem.
