C250 CDI Sport
Hi all, Im a newbie on this forum and to MB ownership.

I recently bought a 2010 C250 CDI Sport (AMG styling) - Auto gearbox. Overall happy with the car. I happy with the performance and low-medium speeds. However there are two issues t=which concern me:

1. car runs out of puff at 98mph (around 2.5K revs in top gear).
2. Theres quite a bit of engine vibration felt in the accelerator pedal at speeds >70mph.

Any experiences or suggestions what I should check out?

Many thanks,
Graham

1. Are there any warning lights on the dash? Might be worth getting the car plugged into a STAR (MB diagnostic) machine
2. Dunno

How recently did you buy the car? Might be worth taking it back to the dealer?

Thanks for your reply. No lights on the dash. Will take it back to the dealer for testing.

Do the newer mercs have a winter tyre speed limiter that can be set in the comand menu? My 2005 E320 certainly had this feature.

Notwithstanding your vibration issue of course which as you say, may indicate another issue.

On the steering wheel, go left/right to settings, scroll down to vehicle, find winter tyre settings and then set this to off. It'll be set to 100mph by the previous owner as a licence saver or he had never gone that fast in it.

Sounds like you haven't yet experimented with the speed limiter or you would recognise the feel of it operating (not that it is noticable). It's worth getting to know for times like average speed cameras in heavy traffic.

First port of call for the vibration is the wheel balance.
