Brainstorming required, folks!
My project Elegance estate TD smokes at idle, compared to my identical daily driver.
Spec: 180K, oil and filters changed, previous owners bodgery eliminated (manifold gaskets, breather rubbers, cam cover leaks), turbo and injector nozzles rebuilt, glow plugs done, delivery valve o rings changed, fuel pipe o rings changed, EGR cleaned. Running on 50% SVO.
I have not run the car much in the year it's been in my garage and legally can't take it out for a blast, so its done little more than warm up and idle. It was better before I took it to bits, which is annoying... Possibly I may have moved one '7g' delivery valve part's orientation, as it came out with the spring, ISTC.
I can't face tearing down the fuel and induction system yet again...Any ideas, have I done something stupid?
Cheers !

What colour is the smoke?

Could be timing?

Does it smoke on diesel only?

Did the injectors get reconditioned fully by a specialist, pop pressures ect, new nozzles?

Are you using soya oil?

Im gonna throw in a banana as my post is getting way too serious for my liking :bannana:

make that two :bannana:

Looks like its the ERG, done some tests, disconnected the cross over pipe. I messed up by connecting the ERG vac solenoid to the wastegate vac solenoid a while ago. If anyone is interested I can explain why quite convincingly, but I doubt that to be the case.
Cheers and a pint to Dieselman!

yep somewhere is my post with the immage how the vaccum should be when bypassing egr valve.
