C250td - decat / dpf will it pass emissions?

Will a de-DPF'd (cat to petrol types) pass a 1998 type MOT emissions test, assuming its still basically running ok?

Yes, I had my c250 for 7 years with no cat and it passed MOT every year.

If you remove the DPF try and have the insides of it removed and then the empty unit put back in place, just MOT centres look for the fact that the DPF is only there, as far as I know they dont test emissions on diesels they only do a smoke test and if it is too smoky after the removal then it may fail

A 250TD doesn't have a DPF, just a 2 way Cat.

It won't affect the smoke reading.

For surety with a picky tester that insists on seeing a cat, just knock the monolith out.
