help,, My c270 cdi s203 52 reg cut out with EPC warning,, after a while we got it restarted,, then a few miles later after quite hard acceleration it cut out again with EPC warning, but would not re start, (the HP pump has been rebuilt with new seals, the lines repalced last year). no fuel seems to be getting to the HP pump,,

is there i LP in the tank?

is there any way to test it?

Thanks

aux pump is front of the engine (camshaft). When fuel filter is changed? Is there air bubbles in clear lines? Do a injector leak test.

There is no fuel in the clear lines that`s the point,,,

there is no fuel at the pump on the camshaft.. which is why i want to know if there is one before that

It sounds like a blocked filter or hp pump issue.

It needs a Star.

Thank you,

yes fuel filter could be the cause, the main question i have is :

is there a feed pump in the tank?, i cannot see the HP pump sucking the fuel all the way from the tank,,

the RAC had a Reader on it but it just came up with high pressure fuel rail. which is obvious,

i fuel diagram from tank to injectors would be handy!!

the 270CDI engine has one pump on front of engine so if no fuel is getting to pump either there is a leak further back, the pump is not pulling fuel through or as already suggested Fuel filter is old and or blocked.
Like you I thought there should be a pump in tank so disconnected fuel lines between filter and pump making things worse by letting air in to lines.
It takes a lot of cranking to fill lines again and clear all air from them. Nearly flattened battery if you get it started let it idle for a while to purge lines. by your earlier description of epc could it be this?

It has a lift pump too at the front of the engine. Usually very reliable.

It needs a Star to do a high pressure pump test.
