C270 W203 "This Bit Fell Off" (What is it)

Hi People,

Following a nasty rattle on my W203 C270, I removed the plastic gearbox undertray and found the following (See Picture's) I dont have a ramp, but had a good nose around and couldnt see where it might be from, any Mercedes fitters out there or anyone else had seen this bit before ??
hope someone recognises it!

It looks like a brace of some sort. Sorry i can't be more helpful.
