C280 tyre size on 6.6" rim

I've looked at the sticky on tyre sizes. I have a w202 c280 with 195x65R15 tyres on a 6.5" wide rim - standard tyre size as per spec.

Although the it seems that Merc spec does not approve, is it advisable to put a 205x60R15 tyre on this rim. According to merc, you need a 7" rime.

Will the wide tyre give me any advantage over the 195?

yes . if you look at the back of the handbook.
is says so. tyres are
195/65 r15 or 205/60 r15.
winter and summer tyres.

i am not sure about the advantage if any. it will definitely look better.
might give a slightly bit more grip.

The back of my handbook says:

195 on a 6.5" rim, and
205 on a 7" rim

Thats why I asked the question, cause I have 6.5" rims.

According to Car Bibles, a 205/60 15 can be fitted to wheels with a width between 5.5 and 7.0 inches.
